屋根裏部屋で眠っていた、もらいもののジャケット。
少し古いものですが、仕立て屋さんが作った上等のもの。
男性もので、ずっと着ないまま置いていたので、鞄にしてみました。
お店に行って、素敵な鞄をたくさん見ても、心にぐっと、どうしてもこれが欲しいと思う何かが足りず、結局自分で作りました。
ポケットが左右でフラップ付とフラップなしになっているのや、内ポケットがたくさんついていたものも全て活かしたので、機能性の高い鞄になりました。
ラペルを、どうしようかと迷ったのですが、ジャケットの形をそのまま残したかったし、鞄っぽくない感じになれば面白いかとも思ってそのまま使ってみました。
ほぼ全ての生地を使ったので、残ったのは袖の裏地と、肩パッドなど。
小さな余り布で、小さなポーチも作りました。
作りたい物がまだまだあるので、時間がもっと欲しかったのですが、とりあえず一つ完成したから良しとします。

It's Ginger.
The jacket which was handed down from somebody had been sleeping in the attic of our house.
It's a little old one, but it's tailored neatly.
The men's jacket was unused and left there for a long time, so I made it into a bag.
Even when I go to a bag shop and see many pretty bags, those bags are missing something to make me want them. After all, I made one by myself.
The jacket has two different pockets -one with a flap and one without-, and also it has many inner pockets. So I left them all to be used. Very practical and functional.
I wondered if I should make the most of the lapel or not. I wanted to keep a form of the jacket and also wanted to make it an unusual bag. So I used the lapel as it is for fun.
I used almost all parts of the jacket, so linings of the sleeves and shoulderpads and bits and bobs were what left over.
I had little pieces of fabric so I made a little pouch with them.
There are many more things I want to make, so I wanted more time. Well, I made one of them, so I say it's okay.
