workaholic?

紳士淑女の皆さま、お元気ですか？
ご無沙汰をお詫びいたします。別に休暇に行っていたわけではないのです。ただ、仕事づくめの日々なのです。
日本の夏は暑いですね、って今更ながら気づきました。幸運にも去年の夏はプラハへ休暇に出かけたのですが、今年は違います。
仕事が激しいのと、ピラティスのレッスンの相乗効果で体重が落ちました。最初の頃は喜んでいたのですが、最近はちょっと怖くなってきました・・・。
先月、働きすぎて体を壊したのです。2週間で4～5キロも体重が減ってしまい、同時に舌の横側、歯列に沿って口内炎が4～5個できて、食べたり喋ったりするたびに涙が出ました。私のピラティスの先生が、あなたは膵臓と脾臓と胃が弱っているわと言いました。それから電磁波にやられやすい体質だとも。先生は膵臓と脾臓と胃の経絡が通るリンパのマッサージをして、私の足を細くしてくれました。

きちんとしたお休みが必要なのです。
気休めでしかありませんが、今月はお仕事にお休みを多めに申請しました。
休んでいる間も、多少の罪悪感を感じるのは、完全なるワーカホリックですね。
自覚はしているのですが、今回ばかりは、コントロールについて考えさせられました。
自分が何に向かっているのか、何の為に今の行動があるのかを考えて、もう少し上手く舵を取っていければと思うばかりです。


ああ、秋が早く来ればいいのに。

How are you ladies and gentlemen?
Apology for being so out of touch. I was not on holiday or anything. I'vw been just working all the time.

Summer in Japan is too hot, I realised. I had a lucky holiday last summer in Praha, but not this year.
Both the hard works and Pilates lessons made me lost weight. I was sort of happy at the beginning, but now I'm getting a bit scared...
I worked too hard and messed up my body last month. I lost about 4 or 5kg (don't know how much in stone) in 2 weeks and I had 4 or 5 canker sores along the sides of my tongue at the same time. They were hurting like a hell so I was crying everytime I chew or speak. My Pilates teacher said my pancreas, spleen, and stomach are the weakest of my body and I'm too easy to be affected by an electromagnetic wave. She massaged the lymph spots which linked up with the pancreas, spleen and stomach, and made my legs slimmer.

I need a proper break.
It's mere a temporary solution, but I asked extra day offs at work this month.
Feeling a little guilt during day-offs means I'm workaholic.
I knew that, but this time, I thought a lot about contorol.
Think about where I'm trying to go and what my present activities are for, I want to do better steering.


Oh I wish autumn will come sooner. 

my favorite silver accessories

ピラティスに通うようになってから、私の大好きなチャイ屋さんの近くにスタジオがあるため、これ幸いと足しげく通うようになりました。
色々なチャイがありますが、本場でチャイを飲んだことの無い私にとっては、このお店のチャイが一番おいしいです。

さて、今日はチャイのお話ではなく、私の好きなアクセサリーのお話です。
私はシンプルでいて、存在感のあるものが好きなのですが、セルジュのリングを少し持っていると以前このブログにも書きました。

イオッセリアーニという、イタリアのブランドがあります。
きっと日本にはファンも多いでしょう。シンプルでありながら、洗練された力強いデザインが多く、マテリアルの加工の仕方もアーティストの技が光ります。5連、7連、8連といった特徴的なリングは、イオッセリアーニのクラシック・コレクションとして有名でしょう。重厚なようでいて、繊細。重ね着けによって生まれる陰影が、物語を深めてくれているように思えます。
私が社会人になって初めて頂いたお給料で買ったアクセサリーが、イオッセリアーニのイヤリングでした。正方形の銀の中に、小さな正方形の窓がくり抜いてあり、その部分がスティールメッシュになっている、至って飾り気のないデザインなのですが、使うほどに馴染むような、少しいびつな正方形と銀色が気に入り、ドキドキしながら買ったのを覚えています。
近年のコレクションは、マラカイト、ジャスパー、ターコイズ、アゲートなどの鉱石を使ったものが多く、南国の花や果実を身につけているかのようなエキゾチックさがあります。
さて、私は今回出会ったのは、黒のジュエリーでした。

蛇が黒く光る果実に、くわっと牙を立てているペンダントです。アダムとイヴをそそのかしたサーパントかと思いましたが、蛇はイタリアではお守りになるそう。(日本においても脱皮をする蛇は死と再生を連想させることから生命力の象徴であり、蛇の信仰は世界各地にありますね。) 黒く見える石は、光の加減によっては緑に見えるという神秘的なもの。私の持っているネックレスは鎖骨の少し下くらいの長さのものが多いので、重ね着けをできるような、少し長めのものを探していたのでちょうどよかったです。チェーンの太さも好み。
もう一つのアイテムはペンダントと同じ石を使ったリング。石のリングはカラーのものを随分昔に買いましたが、そのうち私には少し派手な感じがして、あまり着けないでいました。このリングは、石と並んでシルバーの飾りもあるので、私の他の指輪との相性も良いところが気に入りました。
元気をもらいながら、大切に身につけたいと思います。

Serge rings of mine

Since my Pilates lesson studio is luckly close to my favourite chai café, I often go there.
There are various chai places, but for me the best chai belongs to this one though I’ve never been to the home of chai.

So, today I’m writing about chai? No, I’m afraid. I’m going to write about my favourite accessories.

As I wrote a bit about Serge Thoraval rings before. I like something simple, but cannot be ignored.

my first IOSSELLIANI

IOSSELIANI is an Italian jewellery brand.
There must be lords of fans of this brand in Japan. Most of their designs are simple but sophisticated and strong. Manipulations of the materials are clever. One of their characteristic rings is multiplex rings such as quintuplex, septuplex, and octuplex rings, and they are signature rings as IOSSELLIANI’s Classic Collections. Their jewelleries look heavy, but delicate. It seems like that the shades created from layering items deepen the stories behind the jewelleries.
The first jewellery I bought with my first salary was a pair of IOSSELLIANI earrings. They were silver in square shape. Each of their centres is cut out in square and has steel-mesh windows. They are not decorative at all, but I liked free-hand-drawn like square shape and silver which seemed to me that they are going to be parts of me as I wear them for years. I still remember how excited I was when I was paying for them.
IOSSELLIANI’s recent collections are using minerals such as malachite, jasper, turquoise and agate. They are so exotic that you feel like wearing flowers and fruits from Southern countries.
However, what I met this time were the black jewelleries.

One was a pendant with a charm of the snake biting on a black fruit with its sharp fangs. It reminded me of the Serpent which instigated Adam and Eve, but in Italy, a snake is a lucky charm. - we also think a snake is a symbol of life as its skin shading habit reminds us of death and revival in Japan. There are worships of snake all over the world as you know. The black stone mysteriously changes its colour to green from different angles and in different light. I have many necklaces which lengths are just under my collarbone. So I've been looking for one can long enough to layer with my other necklaces. I liked the thickness of the chain of this one too.
Another item was a ring which is using the same black stone with the pendant. I had bought coloured stone rings many years ago, but eventually I felt that they were too loud for me, so I stopped wearing them. This one has a silver decoration; I thought it can fit well with my other silver rings.
I want to wear them and look after them so as to be given energy.

先日、思いがけなく雑誌 MODE OPTIQUE(モード・オプティーク) 34号の撮影に参加したことを書きましたが、雑誌に載らなかったカットをカメラマンの小笠原さんより頂き、そのあまりの写真の美しさに感動しました。

I wrote about how unexpectedly I was involved in the shoot for MODE OPTIQUE magazine vol.34 the other day. The camera guy Mr. Ogasawara kindly sent me copies of unused cuts and I was impressed by the beauty if the photoes.
Professionals can produce such a great atmosphere.
The photoes told me different looks of myself and I found them interesting.
And again, Theo Eyewear's glasses are fabulous...

エリザベス女王2世の即位60年式典、ロンドンのオリンピックにパラリンピックと、どうも今年はイギリスが熱いです。近頃は雑誌やテレビでイギリスの情報や文化を特集しているのをよく目にします。

ちょうどBBC製作の『SHERLOCK』シーズン２をDVDで見終えました。
日本で放映されるのを待ち切れず、アマゾンでDVDセットを買い求めました。
このドラマを全く見たことの無い方々のために、内容については書きませんが、うぅぅ!!　シーズン２はとっても良かったです。シーズン３が待ち遠しい。

先月から週1でピラティスに通っています。やってみたかったことの1つ。
私の体は柔軟ではなく、例えば180°の開脚はできませんが、新しいエクササイズを学ぶのは楽しいです。

今日は、台風の為に夜からの仕事が思いがけなくキャンセルになりました。
昨夜から疲労感があり、今朝は雑用をこなした後、ピラティスの練習をして解剖学論を少し勉強しましたが、次第に床に崩れ落ち、お昼御飯も食べずに眠りました。
午後、仕事のキャンセルを知らせる携帯電話のメールの音で起こされました。
ラッキーなことがあるものです。休みが本当に必要だったので、そのままもう少し眠った後、起きて紅茶を飲みました。
一生懸命働くのは良いことですが、時々休むことも必要ですね。

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, London Olympic & Paralympic 2012.... apparently UK is hot this year.
I see lots of magazines and TV programs featuring UK info & culture recently.

I've just finished catching up with BBC SHERLOCK season 2 on DVD.
I couldn't wait till it's coming out on Japanese TV, so I bought a DVD set on amazon.com.
For the people who haven't watched any of this TV drama series, I won't give out, but Wooow! I loved the 2nd series so much. I can't wait for the season 3.

I've been taking Pilates lessons once a week since last month. It's one of my wanted-to-do things.
My body is not so pliant, for example, I can't sit with my legs opened 180° astride, but I'm enjoying learning new exercises.

Today, my evening work was unexpectedly cancelled because of the tropical cyclone.
I had been feeling tired since last night so this morning after I did some chores, I practised Pilates and studied anatomy a bit, but eventually I collapsed on a floor and slept without eating lunch.
Early afternoon, I was woken by a text alert saying my night work had been cancelled.
Lucky me, I really needed a day off so I slept a bit more and then I got up and had a pot of tea.
Working hard is good, but you need to rest for a while every now and then.

Artistic Eyewear

これまで書いてきたように、東京での小旅行中はたくさんのとても楽しい体験をしました。
そのうちの魅力的な出来事の結果が、先日私の郵便受けにやって来ました。
雑誌 MODE OPTIQUE(モード・オプティーク) 34号が届いたのです。

眼鏡専門誌を読むのは初めてのこと。
眼鏡とは何と美しく、興味深いものかと驚きました。ページを繰るごとに、お気に入りが見つかるのです。
そしてもちろん、テオ・アイウェアのページを楽しみました。
自分自身が印刷物の中にいるのを見ること、他人の視点で見られた自分を見ることは奇妙な感覚でした。
そこには私が、とてもスタイリッシュな眼鏡を掛けてカメラのファインダーを見つめていました。

誰かの創造力をシェアさせてもらえるというのは何とも楽しい。創造の一部に参加出来るというのは素晴らしいことです。
驚いたことに、初めて会った人たちの前で私は随分とリラックスしていました。おそらく彼らがとても優しかったからでしょう。クルト、小笠原さん、船山さん、もう一度ありがとう。
ああ、それからもう１つ。私の掛けていた眼鏡の値段にも大いに驚きました（！）

As I've been writing, I had many very fun experience during my short trip in Tokyo.
One of the fascinating events' result came in my post the other day.
A copy of MODE OPITIQUE vol.34 was arrived.

It was the first time for me to read a magazine all about spectacles.
I was surprised how beautiful and interesting they were. I kept finding my favourite ones page after page.
And of course I enjoyed looking at the page of Theo Eyewear.
It was a strange feeling to see myself on printed pages and feel other people's points of view.
There were me, wearing very stylish glasses and looking at a viewfinder.

What a joy to share someone's creativity. It was so amazing to be a part if it.
Surprisingly I was very relaxed in front of the people I've never met before. It's because they were very kind to me I guess. Thank you again, Kurt, Mr.Ogasawara, and Ms. Funayama.
Oh, one more thing. I was surprised at the price of the glasses I was wearing(!)
